Health Care is Alive and Well! (Pun intended!)
Health care in the Johnson City, Kingsport area is outstanding for towns of this size. Two major organizations, Mountain States Health Alliance and Welllmont operate hospitals in multiple locations and of varying sizes. Please use the links to their sites to see the quality of their offerings. I've also included links to in vitro fertilization clinics. Some of the first in vitro babies in Tennessee were born in Johnson City! A favorite story told by long-time locals centers around the hospital that was then called the Johnson City Eye Hospital. A Johnson City person elected to go to a big city to have surgery. When he met the physician, it was one who had been flown in from Johnson City to do the procedure!
